A couple days ago, I mentioned that I was going to make a Cinnamon Roll Bread recipe that a friend had shared on Facebook.  Well, I made it and it was fantastic!!  It tastes very similar to a Cinnamon Roll cake recipe that I have, but this one is a bit lighter. Also it only makes a loaf and not an entire 9x13 pan full of cake, so not a ton of leftovers to be eating for days after. :)

I took some pictures to share, but I can't get the loaded for some reason. :(  As soon as I figure it out I will post some pictures.

But, for now, I will post the recipe.  I have no idea where the recipe came from..a friend posted it on facebook, and if I could I would give credit to whoever wrote it.  If you know, let me know and I will definitely share that info!!

Easy Cinnamon Roll Bread
Bread-
2 cups flour
1 T baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, at room temperature
1 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup sour cream or greek yogurt

Swirl-

1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 T butter, melted and cooled slightly

Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tsp milk

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  Butter or spray a glass loaf pan.

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.  Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk egg, milk, vanilla and yogurt or sour cream.  Add the flour mixture to egg mixture, stirring with spoon just until combined.  Pour into prepared pan.

In a small bowl, stir swirl ingredients.  Drop by spoonfuls onto top of bread; use knife to swirl.

Bake for 45-50 minutes or until center tests done.

Remove from oven and cool for 15 minutes in pan.  Cool completely on rack out of pan.

Make glaze and drizzle on top.

Have a great day!!

One of my favorite things about being a mom and a wife is making our home...homey.  I want everyone who comes to our house to feel at home and welcome.  Especially my family.  There is nothing better than walking into someones house and feeling the love and warmth that is inside.  I'm going to share some of the ways I make my house cozy-

1. Candles
Don't you just love the smell of a lovely candle??  And the flickering flame in the evening!  I don't usually burn them because my hubby doesn't like the smell when they are extinguished, but I almost always have a candle in my warmer.  I love almost anything by Yankee Candle, but they are just too expensive.  I've found that Better Homes and Gardens candles smell just as nice and they are way cheaper.  The scent doesn't last as long as Yankee, but at $5 a pop, you can by 5 candles for the cost of 1 Yankee.

2. Music
I always used to leave the tv on all day for background noise.  Until I discovered music channels!!  Love them!  All day long I listen to country music.  It makes me happy and keeps me motivated to keep moving.  Sometimes I switch it up and listen to 70's, 80's and 90's, but mostly country.  When my hubby is home I will turn on our Pandora channel because it's a nice mix of both of our tastes in music.

3. Attention
I think this is the most important thing you can do.  Give your family your attention.  Shut off the tv, put your phone down, get off the computer.  Look them in the eye when they're talking.  Play games, go outside...just enjoy your time together.  But let your family know they're important to you by giving them your time.

Later today I'm going to try a new recipe a friend of mine shared on facebook...Cinnamon Roll Bread.  YUM!  I'll post the recipe next time. :)

Hi!  Welcome to my blog.  I love reading other peoples blogs and I've always wanted to try one of my own...so here we are!  I wanted to start writing about my new journey.  I'm recently unemployed due to a HUGE move across country to live closer to my sister and her family.  I hate the word 'unemployed'.  It sounds like I'm just sitting around the house doing nothing, and to be honest, I found myself doing that a lot more than I'd like to admit.

I was looking for jobs all day and getting more and more frustrated that I wasn't finding anything.  Well, I was finding them..they just didn't want me.  Who wouldn't want me??  I think I'm pretty awesome. ;)

Yesterday, I realized I don't have to sit around and do nothing.  Why can't I help my husband financially by saving money.  In the past I was a stay at home mom, my kids are now in school, but they still need me.  My husband needs me.  My home needs me.  And just like that my attitude changed.

I had such an awesome day, yesterday.  I did a lot of cleaning and organizing..and I would do those things before, but it was my attitude that had changed.  I felt like I was cleaning for a purpose, not just because it needed done, but I was blessing my family.

So here I am, on my brand new blog, and I will be writing about my new journey in Housewifery.  I'll write about money saving tips, cleaning ideas, organizing, kids projects, cooking, baking...whatever I want!
