Fathers Day Weekend

Tomorrow Hubby is going golfing...he's actually been golfing a lot in the past week.  He bought a new club and that was his Fathers Day/birthday present...trust me, it was worth two holidays worth of presents. I do have a gift that I've been wanting to buy him, but it will have to wait until...Christmas, I guess?  Good Lord.  I can't believe that's around the corner.

Anyway, so tomorrow Hubby is golfing and Shae and I are making a cheeseburger cake.  My mom and sister are coming to help..it should be fun.  I will have to take pictures.  I have no idea how this will turn out.  I'm sure I'll have an entry for the next Pinterest fail. haha

Dinner for Fathers Day...still haven't decided.  I might make chicken pot pie.  That is my hubby's favorite and I know he would love it.  We were going to grill, but it is going to be so hot here!!  I've been hearing the high is 117.

We only ate out once this week, which is awesome for us!  One of my dinners was spaghetti & meatballs, but I used ground chicken for the meatballs.  It turned out so good!  I was very surprised.  In the past, I've used ground chicken or ground turkey and they have seemed so dry.

I don't really have much to say today.  It was a pretty sad week for our country.  I'm not going to get into it, I think we've heard plenty.  I just want to say...please pray for our country.  Between the terrorists, the election and it seems we will turn on each other at the drop of a hat....we need God more than ever.

So, I hope you all have a great weekend, celebrating all the awesome dad's in your life!

Finally Friday!

This week has been mostly spent packing and preparing my youngest daughter for camp.  It's a mini camp with her Girl Scout troop, so it's only two nights.  She's very excited, but nervous as well.  She's only stayed away from home for longer than a night with my mom..and she's only a short drive from our house.  This camp in an hour away.  I'm praying that she has a wonderful time.  My heart breaks to think of her being alone and sad.  So I will be praying all weekend for her!  (Any prayers you would like to send up would be greatly appreciated! <3 )

Because this week was a mad dash to get her ready, I think I only cooked one night.  So frustrating!  This is my biggest issue with having a full time job.  No time.  No time for anything, really.  But I hate feeding my family from take out containers, and I find that happening more and more.  My hubby and I do our grocery shopping on the weekends, have good intentions, make a meal plan...but when 5:30 rolls around on Monday we are both exhausted.  I need to get this under control.

This weekend I think I'll have a lot of free time.  With my youngest off to camp, my oldest daughter is planning on having a friend here, so she will be busy, and my hubby has a golf outing on Saturday...I have nothing but time.  My plan is to get my house in shape-it's not too bad, but there is always something that needs done, bake a little, catch up on my reading and my dvr.  Hubby is taking my car so I won't even be able to leave.  I really don't mind...I need a day to be shut in the house.  I've been going non stop since we got back from our vacation.

The book I'm currently reading...My Sunshine Away by M.O. Walsh.  It's a little weird, but when I get started reading, it's hard for me to put it down.  If you like mystery's I would highly recommend it.  I won't get into the details, but if you're into that genre of books, definitely check it out.

Have a great weekend!!

1 Year Later....

I can't believe it's almost been a whole year since I've posted anything!  Time has literally flown by!  Wow.

So to catch up...

My girls are out of school.  Marley is headed to high school (what??) and Shae will be in her last year of elementary school.  I know everyone says they don't know where the years have gone, but seriously...it seems like yesterday they were babies.  It's so fun and heartbreaking watching them grow up.  Shae is headed to Girl Scout camp this weekend.  She's never been away from us for more than one night.  I'm sure she'll have a blast!  Marley is having fun spending her summer with friends.

We bought a new car!  My car was so old (2005 Dodge Durango)!  I loved it.  I hated to get rid of it, but it was way overdue.  We bought a 2015 Dodge Journey.  I love it more than the Durango.  Maybe it's the newness of it, but I'm so happy with it. : )

We are finally house shopping!  So, so, so excited!  This time we are going to buy exactly what we want and not settle.  With our last home, we both feel like we settled.  Our real estate agent wasn't exactly on our side.  She pushed us into the house that we ended up buying.  I did fall in love with our home...I have tons of lovely  memories and it was such a cute home with a lot of character.  Loved our neighborhood and neighbors.  Anyway.  We were pushed into it, but it worked out.  haha  But this time we will be purchasing our perfect family home.  We have a list of our wants and we're not settling.  This will hopefully be our forever home.  More on this when the time comes.  (With tons and tons of pictures!)

We have a new furry addition to our family.  Marley's friend gave her a kitten for her birthday last August.  I couldn't say no when there was a tiny furball placed on my lap.  No more animals though!  We are having some sharing issues with the cats and their litter box.  Not fun.

I didn't upload any pictures to share.  I just wanted to pop on real quick and get this typed up.  I've been trying to share pictures on my instagram (_housewifery_), so look there for updates.  It's a little easier to update with a picture here and there.

I'm hoping to post at least once a week.  I make no promises...it's hard to find any free time between cooking, cleaning, momming (ha) and my job.  Ugh.  Those 50's housewives didn't know how easy they had it. ;)
